President: Stephanie Papoutsakis
Stephanie Papoustakis was born and raised in New York! Her Hellenic roots stem from Crete, on her Father’s side, and from Nisyros and Evia, on her Mother’s side. In the spring of 2021, she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business at St. John’s University in New York. In 2022, she graduated once again from St. John’s with her Master’s of Business Administration Degree concentrated in Risk and Financial Advisory. Stephanie is currently working as a Staff Internal Auditor at Atlas Air!
As a student at St. John’s University, she participated in campus events and was actively engaged with the Hellenic Society. As President of the HSA, she recruited members and grew the club’s overall roster to 100 active members. She inspired members to become more active during meetings, fundraisers, and events. While President, her outgoing personality helped her to coordinate events on campus with other university organizations as well as with other universities within the Tri-state area - she continues this coordination with outside groups through NHSA This will be Stephanie’s fourth year on the Executive Board! Her past positions include Vice President, Director of Operations, and Northeast Regional Director. During her previous terms, Stephanie has played a crucial role in ensuring the success of NHSA’s initiatives and programs - especially the bi-annual Convention weekends. Her attention to detail, determination, and networking skills have prepared her for her exciting new role this year as President. Stephanie is excited to continue promoting and advocating for the values that NHSA stands by! |
Vice President: Tia Kotsiopoulos
Tia Kotsiopoulos is a second-generation Greek American who was born and raised in Barrington, IL. She graduated in May 2022 with her Bachelor’s in Marketing from Loyola University Chicago and earned her MBA from Loyola as well! In undergrad, Tia was the president of the Hellenic Student Association her senior year, and was a member of Loyola’s OCF. Tia has always been well-versed in the Greek community and is deeply involved within the Metropolis of Chicago. She serves on the YAL Chicago Executive Board, as well as being the Marketing Co-Chair for the YAL Chicago Conference. Tia was recently elected to the National YAL Executive Board, representing the Chicagoland area. Tia’s paternal side stems from Kalamata; and her maternal side from Athens. She has always been passionate about promoting her Hellenism, and embraces authentic traditions and customs. Tia is thrilled to be a part of the NHSA executive board for the fifth year, serving her second term as the Vice President! NHSA has played a key role in her meeting with young professionals, and building a network of individuals from across the entirety of North America and Canada.
Tia is looking forward to being back on the board this year, and to seeing what opportunities NHSA can provide to all of our new members, convention attendees, while playing a role in creating positive experiences for our international Greek community. |
Director Of Operations: Georgios Araujo
Raised in Manhasset Hills, NY, Georgios Araujo's background reflects the rich cultural traditions of both Greek and Portuguese heritage. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Neuroscience from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY, and his passion for science and medicine led him to further his education. Georgios is currently a candidate for his Doctor of Pharmacy at MCPHS University in Boston, MA.
During his time at Adelphi, Georgios founded the Hellenic Society and served as President for two consecutive terms, refining his leadership skills and promoting Hellenism across campus. His involvement in the society opened the door to NHSA, where he was invited to join the executive board after demonstrating a commitment to expanding the organization’s reach. Georgios’ leadership journey within NHSA began as the Northeast Regional Director, then progressed to Vice President, followed by two consecutive terms as President, and most recently, Director of Operations. As President, he organized five post-pandemic in-person conventions, drawing over 1,000 students and young professionals from cities such as New York, San Francisco, Toronto, Boston, and Montreal. His leadership style, which focuses on trust and empowerment, allowed his executive board to thrive and achieve significant organizational milestones. Reelected as Director of Operations for 2025, Georgios is eager to build on his past successes and continue his work behind the scenes to ensure NHSA’s continued growth and impact. Reflecting on his experiences, he believes that “the best way to inspire young people is to be an example for them,” a principle that continues to guide his efforts to support and uplift the communities NHSA serves. |
Treasurer: Demetrios Skoumbakis
Demetrios Skoumbakis is an Associate in the New York City office of Cushman & Wakefield. Mr. Skoumbakis specializes in Tenant representation for both lease acquisitions and space dispositions. His attention to detail and thorough understanding of the local real estate market have resulted in superior execution and substantial savings for his clients.
Mr. Skoumbakis joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2024 as an office leasing specialist. Previously, Mr. Skoumbakis worked with Select Equity Group, a $40 Billion Long/Short Hedge Fund based in New York. Born and raised in Crete, Greece, he joined Long Island University to combine both education and D1 soccer. After 2.5 years, while double majoring in Mathematics and Economics, being the captain of the Men's soccer team, voted as the best goalkeeper and scholar athlete in the Northeast, he graduated from LIU as the Valedictorian for the class of 2022. Mr. Skoumbakis used one of his last two years of NCAA eligibility and he transferred to Fordham University, where he completed his Master of Finance in one year as a full-time student athlete. Mr. Skoumbakis, a 2020 Panhellenic Scholarship Recipient, is heavily involved within the Greek American community in NYC and across the nation, having been recognized with awards and recognitions through his participation in Executive and Associate boards for a great number of organizations and initiatives. |
Director of Communications: Sophia Angeletakis
Sophia Angeletakis is a second-generation Greek American that moved from Delaware to Brooklyn, NY after graduation. Sophia’s maternal side is from Pylos, Messinia and her paternal side is from Athens. She graduated from the University of Delaware in May 2022 with her Bachelors in Health Behavior Science and minors in Social Entrepreneurship and Biology. She also got her Masters in Health Promotion with a concentration in Health Coaching at the University of Delaware. During her undergrad, she was the President of UD’s Orthodox Christian Fellowship for 2 years as well as the outreach chair for the Hellenic Student Association. Sophia used to be a dance member of Akritai, the Pontian Society of Philadelphia but now dances with Kyklos at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in the Upper East Side, NYC. She also is involved with the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Philadelphia and Delaware Valley where she helps coordinate the Philadelphia Greek Independence Day Parade.
Anyone that knows Sophia will say that her culture is the biggest part of her identity as she is extremely passionate about enriching herself and her community with the morals and values of Hellenism. Sophia joined NHSA to further this goal and advocate for her community’s growth through her position as Director of Communications. This is Sophia’s third year being on the board of NHSA and is looking forward to advancing the mission of the organization. |
Director of Special Projects & Initiatives:
Francesca Rimbos
Francesca Rimbos is a second generation Greek American who was born and raised in Hinsdale, IL. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business of Health at Nova Southeastern University, with a minor in Pre-Health. Passionate about healthcare and leadership, she is preparing for a future in dentistry, where she hopes to make a meaningful impact in the field of oral surgery.
During her time in undergrad, Francesca founded the Hellenic Student Association at her university, creating a space for students to connect with their Greek heritage and build lasting friendships. Her involvement in the Greek community expanded beyond campus, leading her to the National Hellenic Student Association (NHSA), where she currently serves as the and Director of Special Projects & Initiatives. Additionally, she is the Director of Instagram and LinkedIn for the East Euro Youth Society, furthering her commitment to cultural engagement and networking. Francesca’s Greek roots run deep—her family is from Lefkada and Sparti, and she has always been passionate about preserving and promoting Hellenism. Francesca is excited to continue her work with NHSA and looks forward to fostering connections, creating meaningful experiences, and helping young Hellenes embrace their culture while building a strong network for the future. |
Director of Marketing: Irene Chrysostomou
Irene-Maria Chrysostomou is a first-generation Greek American born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Her Hellenic roots stem from Paphos, Cyprus on her father’s side, and Katerini and Gytheio on her mother’s side. She has been very involved in her Greek community at home and has spent most summers visiting family in both Greece and Cyprus, further strengthening her love for her culture and background.
Irene recently graduated from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management, dual concentration in Real Estate and Marketing, and a minor in Modern Greek Studies at the College of Arts and Sciences. She is pursuing a career in Real Estate. During her two years serving as Secretary of the BU Hellenic Association, she recruited new members and hosted several successful events, as well as helped manage the social media accounts and foster communication between the HSA, its members, and the university. Overall, this position has allowed Irene to connect with Hellenic students throughout Boston University, along with Hellenic students in various surrounding universities. This is Irene’s third year serving on the NHSA board, and she is excited to meet even more Hellenic students and young professionals from all over North America and help NHSA spread their values. She is passionate about her Greek culture and looks forward to helping unite Greeks throughout North America. As the Regional Director of New England in 2023, Irene had the privilege to help plan and host the Spring 2023 Boston Convention, while reaching out to and uniting several HSA’s at universities throughout the New England region. As the Digital Media Strategist in 2024, she was able to work hand in hand with our Director of Marketing to expand our reach through expanding our social presence. As the 2025 Director of Marketing, Irene plans to further strengthen NHSA’s image through our various social platforms. She is thrilled to, once again, have the opportunity to build her network and meet new people, while strengthening her own culture and helping promote Hellenism and NHSA values to prospective members of the NHSA. |
Finance Director: Antonis Kalogridis
Antonis Kalogridis was born and raised in New Jersey as a second-generation Greek-American. His Hellenic roots stem from Crete, on his father's side, and Thessaloniki, on his mother's side. His engagement in the Greek community has allowed him to cultivate a deep appreciation for Greek culture and traditions.
Antonis earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University Class of 2024, graduating magna cum laude, where he served as President of the Rutgers Hellenic Cultural Association. As the president, he grew the club to over 50 active members, organizing events that celebrated Greek heritage and connected students to their roots. Antonis currently works as a Civil Engineer at The LiRo Group, where he is part of major infrastructure projects across the New Jersey area. His role involves project management, design, and construction oversight, ensuring that projects are completed to the highest standards. Through this experience, he is building a strong foundation in the construction industry as he works toward his goal of integrating innovative solutions that redefine modern infrastructure. Outside of his professional work, Antonis remains deeply involved in the Greek community. As the President of the Arkadi Cretan Youth Group of New Jersey, he works to preserve and promote Cretan traditions for the next generation — blending his passion for culture with his dedication to preserving Cretan traditions. Antonis joined the NHSA to contribute to the unity of the Hellenic community. He sees the NHSA as an invaluable platform to grow both personally and professionally, while also giving back to the community that has shaped his values and identity. |
Recruitment Director: Helena Syrianos
Helena Syrianos is a Toronto born and raised second-generation Greek Canadian, with Hellenic roots from Zakynthos, Evia, Thessalia, and Arkadia. As an individual who’s Hellenic roots have laid on the forefront of her identity, values, and trajectory of her life, the NHSA has opened Helena’s eyes to a community that stretches beyond her local reach — a community on a far greater scale where she can meet like-minded people and collaboratively leave a lasting footprint on the Hellenic diaspora. Helena is elated and honoured to hold the position of NHSA Recruitment Director for the second consecutive term, after serving as the 2023 Toronto Regional Director. Helena’s passions for her Greek heritage and leadership positions alike, in conjunction with her extensive experience in both departments, have ignited her aspiration to make valuable contributions within Toronto’s Hellenic community and the NHSA as a whole. Within the scope of her responsibilities as Recruitment Director, apart from the sole desire to promote Hellenism, Helena strives to foster more unity and collaboration among members chapters and Greek communities in each region. As the liaison between regional directors and NHSA, and the manager of NHSA’s membership department, Helena seeks to expand membership by fostering inter-regional event opportunities, ultimately elevating NHSA’s prominence across North America.
Helena is a 2024 graduate of the University of Toronto, holding an Honours Bachelor of Arts with a major in Cognitive Science and a double minor in Science, Technology, and Society & Urban Studies. This unique combination of academic disciplines is united by a central focus on understanding human behaviour — whether through psychological processes, technological interventions, or geographical and urban dynamics. This interdisciplinary education has equipped her with a holistic lens to analyze how individuals and communities navigate and shape the world around them, as she is incredibly passionate about leveraging this perspective to make a meaningful impact. Helena will be returning to UofT for her postgraduate studies; she is an incoming master’s candidate in the Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development, specializing in Developmental Psychology and Education. Helena is grateful to have the opportunity to serve on the NHSA Executive Board for a third year, as a vehicle to cultivate growth and community, strengthen relationships within local HSAs and regions, and hone greater unity within the Greek population of students and young professionals in North America. She is deeply committed to advancing NHSA’s mission — one she personally and proudly resonates with. IT Director: Evangelia Kahremanis
Evangelia is a second-generation Greek American born and raised in Northville, Michigan. Her Greek roots reside in Peloponnese, with her mother’s side from Avlona and Megalopolis, and her father’s side from Argos and Nafplio. Evangelia graduated from the University of Michigan in 2024, with a double Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Modern Greek. In 2025, she will be pursuing a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, ultimately aiming to work in neurotechnology, brain-computer interfaces, and international business. Growing up both a ballerina and scientist, Evangelia intends to integrate neural prosthetics with visual and performing arts, offering a unique approach to rehabilitation and mobility enhancement.
At the University of Michigan, Evangelia served as the Hellenic Student Association’s Social Chair and President. In these roles, she synthesized leadership and strategy, executing unique events to strengthen Michigan’s Hellenic student involvement. Moreover, during her membership in the Michigan International Students Society, she collaborated with Greek students to organize events highlighting Greek culture and traditions– an initiative which fostered cross-cultural awareness and understanding among students from across the globe. In addition to extracurriculars, Evangelia spent two summers studying Greek Art, Architecture, and Language in Athens and Thessaloniki. In May 2022, she participated in a translation competition, where she earned the Vasilis Lambropoulos Modern Greek Translation Prize. Evangelia is eager to join NHSA as IT Director, to engage with the Greek American and Canadian community on a larger scale– in particular, she aims to optimize NHSA platforms to further Hellenic engagement both nationally and internationally. She is passionate about promoting NHSA’s dynamic network, enabling Hellenic individuals to thrive professionally and personally. |

Great Lakes: Alexandros Chatzipanagos
Canada - Ontario (Toronto): Stavroula Aggelonitis
Stavroula Theodosia Aggelonitis is a Greek Canadian, born in Toronto, Ontario, and raised in London, Ontario. Both sides of Stavroula’s family are from the Peloponnese region in Greece. Her father’s side is from Monemvasia and her mother’s side is from Nestani, a village near Tripoli.
Stavroula is currently in her second year of her undergraduate studies at the University of Western Ontario (UWO), pursuing an Honours Specialization in Family Studies and Human Development, a BA in Human Ecology. Her long-term goal is to pursue graduate studies in a field related to or in occupational therapy, where she hopes to combine her love for helping others with her academic interests. In addition to her studies, Stavroula serves as the Vice President of Events for the UWO Hellenic Society, where she plays a vital role in organizing and coordinating cultural events and activities for students. Her leadership in this capacity allows her to engage with both the Hellenic and broader campus communities, fostering connections and promoting Hellenism. She is thrilled to be a part of the National Hellenic Student Association (NHSA) for the first time! Stavroula currently serves as the Regional Director for Toronto. She looks forward to working alongside fellow students to support and strengthen the Hellenic community across regions. She is excited about the opportunities ahead and eager to contribute to the association’s efforts to promote Hellenic culture and heritage. |
Canada - Ottawa & Montreal: Adoni Vassilyadi
Adoni Vassilyadi was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, as a proud second-generation Greek-Canadian. His Hellenic heritage traces back to Messinia on his mother’s side and Constantinople on his father’s side. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa in 2024 and is currently pursuing a Master of Applied Science in Anatomical Sciences Education, with the goal of becoming a Sports Medicine Doctor.
Deeply dedicated to the Hellenic Community of Ottawa, Adoni serves as a Youth Advisor, Lead Altar Assistant, and member of the Odyssey Dance Troupe. His leadership extends beyond the local community, as he is actively involved with the Sons of Pericles and serves nationally as Vice President of Met Youth Canada. As one of the co-founders of the University of Ottawa Hellenic Student Association (uOHSA), Adoni played a key role in revitalizing the organization after over a decade of inactivity. From 2022 to 2024, he served as Social Media Manager and Public Relations Officer, working alongside a dedicated executive team to grow the association to 50 active members. His passion for Hellenic culture and community development has been instrumental in the association’s success. Now in his second term as Regional Director for Ottawa/Montreal with the National Hellenic Student Association (NHSA) of North America, Adoni is committed to expanding and strengthening Hellenic student associations across his region. He hopes to inspire more young Greeks to embrace their heritage, connect with their communities, and become active leaders. Excited for the year ahead, he looks forward to continuing his mission of fostering unity, cultural pride, and engagement within the NHSA. |
Mideast: Maria Giannakopoulos
New England: Vana Servos

Vana Servos was born and raised in Athens, Greece, before moving to Stamford, CT in 2015. With family roots in Ithaki, Sparti, and Pyrgos, she has always prioritized staying connected to her Greek heritage and community. She has been actively involved in her Greek church community at home and has spent the past five summers visiting family and friends in Greece, further strengthening her love for her culture and background.
Vana has always embraced Greek traditions, particularly Greek dancing—especially at panigiria—and listening to Greek music across all genres. These cultural experiences have further fueled her dedication to preserving and celebrating her heritage.
She is a senior at Northeastern University, graduating in December 2025, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Communication Studies with concentrations in Management and Marketing, along with a minor in Psychology.
Her passion for Hellenism led her to become deeply involved in the Northeastern Hellenic Society, where she served as Secretary, Vice President, and ultimately

Southwest: Ourania Efraimoglou
Ourania Efraimoglou was born and raised in Athens, Greece. Her Hellenic roots stem from Crete on her mother’s side, Arcadia and Asia Minor on her father’s side. In 2021, she moved to the United States to pursue her studies at UCLA, where she majored in Economics and minored in Mathematics.
Now graduating, Ourania has already embarked on her career, working with nonprofit organizations and playing a key role in establishing a foundation in the U.S. dedicated to preserving and promoting Hellenic culture and history. Recognizing the absence of a cohesive Greek community in Los Angeles, she took the initiative to establish the Hellenic Students’ Community at UCLA, where she has been serving as president. Under her leadership, the organization successfully engaged all Greek and Cypriot students, fostering strong connections through cultural events and initiatives. Her efforts extended beyond UCLA, as she brought together students from USC, LMU, CalTech, and SCI-Arc, creating a broader network of Hellenes across Los Angeles. Her ultimate goal is to unite Hellenes throughout the West Coast. After attending her first NHSA conference, Ourania realized that her mission to build a strong Hellenic community aligned perfectly with NHSA’s goals. This inspired her to take on the role of NHSA Regional Director for the West Coast, a position she has held for two years, leveraging NHSA’s influence to connect students in the West with Hellenes nationwide and deepen their ties to their heritage. |

Canadian Non-profit Director: Antonia Macris
Antonia is a proud first-generation Greek Canadian born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. She has been involved with NHSA for over a decade, has attended ten conventions and is serving this year as the Canadian Non-Profit Director. In 2025, Antonia was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal at the Senate of Canada, recognizing her for over 10 years of youth leadership, community service and philanthropy toward Canadian and Hellenic youth communities, and her positive impact on the Greek Diaspora across Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the United States and Greece. Antonia’s passion and commitment to protecting, preserving and promoting Hellenic cultural traditions has led to volunteerism with many Hellenic organizations at the local, national and international levels. She currently serves as President of The Hellenic Initiative Canada Montreal New Leaders, Youth Secretary of the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal, Board Member of the Hellenic Scholarship Foundation and as Board Member of the Advisory Committee of the McGill Hellenic Students Association. Past positions include President of AHEPA Maids of Athena Montreal and the McGill and Concordia Hellenic Student Associations.
Antonia holds a Masters of Arts in Educational Technology and Masters of Environment from Concordia University, and a Graduate Diploma in Public Relations and Communications Management from McGill University. Her research interests focused on advancing global environmental education and sustainable behaviour change communication across corporate, national and international sectors. She works for the Government of Canada as Manager of Corporate Learning, HR and Co-Chair of the National Youth Network at Environment and Climate Change Canada. Past work experience includes with the United Nations Environment Programme and at McGill and Concordia Universities, where she developed global fundraising campaigns and student-alumni engagement events programming for professional development and experiential learning opportunities. Her achievements to date have modelled a positive impact in trailblazing and shaping the next generation of Greek-Canadian and Greek-American leaders. Antonia aims to continue supporting hellenic youth and the mission of NHSA across North America and beyond. |
Philanthropy Chair: Thomas Psarianos
Thomas Psarianos, NHSA's Philanthropy chair, is currently a Master of Global Affairs Candidate, and a Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto - Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, where he specializes in innovation and global policy. In conjunction with his graduate studies and research, Thomas also currently serves as an elected member of the University's Graduate Education Council, where he was further elected to the Graduate Academic Appeals Board.
With a deep passion for politics and government, Thomas also currently serves as a Legislative Assistant for a Member of Provincial Parliament at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, which builds on his experience as a Policy Analyst with the Canadian Federal Government; along with his experience interning in Greece for the former Greek Minister of Tourism and Culture, Pavlos Geroulanos. Thomas looks forward to using his leadership experience to expand NHSA's presence in Canada, the U.S, and Greece, while expanding the network of Greek students and young professionals across North America. |
